An effective procedure for fighting cellulite, used by Dr. Anna Butowska, is mesotherapy. Mesotherapy of cellulite involves injecting small doses of the drug directly into the subcutaneous fat area affected by cellulite. It is applied either by point injection every few centimeters, or with a special single injection lipoinject technique. It can be used in all cases of cellulite, regardless of the area.
The treatment focuses on punctures with a very thin needle, every 0,51-5 cm. Before the procedure, the skin is usually anesthetized with EMLA cream, so the punctures are hardly noticeable for the patient. In the case of a puncture in a blood vessel, a formation of a small bruise is possible.
One can observe small marks on the skin right after the treatment – either in the form of small spots or checkered skin; depending on the technique of the procedure. They may last from 6 to 3 days. Sometimes minor bruises in the puncture spots can occur. The treated area is usually slightly tender, a little red and a bit swollen. Pain after the procedure can be compared to the pain associated with muscle soreness after an intense training. It can be ameliorated by the use of cold compresses. 3-4 days after the treatment, it is good to massage the treated area in order to obtain an even effect. It is also recommended to drink plenty of water for a week.
